Specialist Teacher of the Deaf, West of England Hearing Implant Programme, Band 7

An exciting opportunity to join the West of England Hearing Implant Programme has arisen due to retirement. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Teacher of the Deaf to join the Rehabilitation Team. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of Surgeons, Audiologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers of the Deaf, Psychologists and Administrative staff.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive Specialist Teacher of the Deaf clinical service, working with babies, children and teenagers referred for consideration for Cochlear Implants, and their subsequent care, post implantation. This post involves assessment, review, rehabilitative and diagnostic management of these clients. It is a responsible advanced level role, working both independently, and as part of a team.

The post holder will be based at St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol and required to work in the community, primarily in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential for this post.
